Exams Are Done!

Finally, exam week has come to a close. This week seemed to drag on forever, even with the day we had off because of all of the snow. I took my final exam today, which was US History, and I felt like i did OK on that. Now third quarter starts on monday, which isn’t a huge change for me. The only change that was made is that now I have Gym instead of Piano. That’s a shame, because I really liked piano and my piano class, we had the best kids in it. Also it was fun for me, because I have been playing the piano since I was young, and this was a beginners piano class, so everything was a breeze. I do like Gym though, mostly because it means that at the end of the year I don’t have to take a final. It’s also a nice class to have just so you can run around and get out your energy. I got iLife ‘09 and iWork ‘09 the other day, both of them are amazing and I highly recommend all Mac OS X users should upgrade. Another fun thing that I think Mac users should get is Mega Man Effect. Granted this application may only be worth while for people like me, who are easily amused. Maybe my next blog post should just be a list of my favorite Mac applications. Sorry windows viewers, maybe later on I will make on about some fun windows things to download. I get to go contra dancing in Rehoboth Massachusetts, if you don’t know what contra dancing is click here. My friend Sarah is back in town from college and she is planing on going as well, so it will be nice to see her again. If you’re reading this: Hi Sarah! Well I think that’s all that I have to talk about for today, hope you have a great weekend.

Frosty The Snow day!

Snow day! I couldn’t have asked for a better day to have a snow day, because I still have a lot of notes to take for Chemistry and I still have to study for my French Exam. I’ve taken my Chorus, Piano, English 10, Algebra II Honors exams so far. In the same order, I believe my grades went A-,A,A-,B-. Those are pretty good grades, the only one that I’m not sure if it is right is my Algebra grade, because there were a few questions that I either got right or completely wrong. Having a snow day today somewhat makes up for the full day exams instead of the half day ones. This is going to be a short post to make up for my extremely long one last time (I didn’t notice how long it was until after I had posted it). Oh also, did you know there are 366 dimples in a golf ball?

Who Needs To Study Anyways?

Have I mentioned how much I abhor exam week? Especially because for some reason, beyond what I can even begin to comprehend, our school has decided to cancel half day exams. So that means that we have to come in, take two exams, and then stay for the rest of the day; which is ridiculous. I’ve been studying nonstop for the past three days, so you would think that they would at least allow us, or just me, go home half way through the day without resulting in a detention so we can rest and study for our next exams instead of making us go to two other classes. I’ve gotten both of my easy exams out of the way which, I passed with flying colors, but that means that I still have my challenging exams left, such as Algebra II Honors and Chemistry. Oh! Side note! I went out to dinner with two of my friends the other day, and when we got their we had a waitress that I had become friendly with over the summer, named Jenna. I guess I should inform you before I go further on in this story that during the fall I was in the musical production of The Sound of Music, and in it we, obviously, had scripts. After the first production night it is tradition that we go out to dinner and the second we go have a party at someone’s house. So while at dinner I had forgotten my script at the restaurant. I then called the restaurant, and went in five times to see if they had it and every waiter or waitress came back with a negative result. So when I went out to dinner with my friends I decided to ask Jenna to make sure that my script wasn’t in the lost and found, because if it wasn’t I was going to have to pay for it. So she walks to the back room and comes out, script in hand. So this had me thinking; did the other people even look in the back? Or did they not even bother? I think that is just ridiculous that they could ignore what I asked them and not even bother to take a look. So where was I before I went off on that little tangent? Ah, exams. The reason that I don’t mind exams is because during the second half of the day we don’t really do anything besides just review for the test, which can be really helpful depending on who the teacher is. Granted, everyday I’ve still gone over a friends house so they can explain it to me. I don’t know if it’s the teachers at my school, or if it’s me, but when ever a teacher explains something it sounds so hard and complicated. When I go over a friends house and they explain it to me, everything makes sense. The same kind of thing happens with test and homework. I completely understand the homework when I’m doing it, but when it’s the same question in a test my mind just stops working. I wish my brain was like a filing cabinet. Like I could just file the important information that I need, instead of the random facts that I know. I mean, I suppose knowing the french national anthem, the inventor of the keytar, and the birthdays Obama, Biden, Pailin, and McCain can come handy sometimes. I would rather know how to factor trinomials than know that the month of January was named after the god Janus, and that turtles can breathe through their butts. So I think that’s all that I have to talk about. One more thing, if you can think of any titles for my blog, rather than “Don’t Look Up.” please leave them in the comments. (Click the button that says something about comments at the top of this post).

Sorry this one was kind of long. Alright, bye!

Ps. Maybe in every blog I should put some fun fact or something that I know! That might be a good idea.

Brand New Day

Wow, who would have thought I would actually make more than one post?  This is crazy.  My friend Marnie is right next to me, she wants to say hello!

Hey guys! So Ryan is my best friend, although he’ll never admit it. So exams are this week. I’m not excited. Actually, I sort of like the feel of not having to do much. Not that I’m lazy or anything. But school is sort of monotonous. I want to go off to college and do things I’m interested in. I’m sure you know the feeling. So yeah. PUPPIES. Not really, but isn’t that happy sounding? I think so. So I think you should all go watch Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog, because I’m listening to the soundtrack, and it’s excellent. Yay! That’s pretty much it. Back to Ryan! (Tell him you like reading my posts so I can do this more often!)

Well I think Marnie basically touched upon everything I had to say, so I will leave you with these words.

I got it working!

You think it would be simple after doing all of this HTML stuff from scratch, getting a simple blog up using help from other sites would be easy.  God, this took forever for me to get everything working.  Well this is just going to be my blog, where I can type what ever I want, when ever I want, with no rules.  So, to start off the blogging why don’t I just talk about what’s happened lately?  I don’t really know how to blog, so this should be a new experience for you and me both.

So at the moment, I’ve just been studying because exam week is this coming week and I really need to do well on them.  I’ve also been reading through some plays and trying to help the Drama Club decide on what play we should do.  Other than that nothing really new has been happening.  All-state choir starts up on February  in Providence.  So I think that’s about it.
